AZGOP Seeks Investigation Into Goddard & Sinema

Phoenix -- With 425 days left until the 2010 general election, Attorney General Terry Goddard and State Representative Krysten Sinema apparently have kicked off their respective campaigns for Governor and State Senate. The problem? They are in violation of the state's "resign-to-run" law.

"I will be formally requesting the Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate whether or not he and State Representative Krysten Sinema have violated Arizona's "resign-to-run" law by publicly declaring their intentions to run for higher office," said Chairman Pullen.

Frivolous? Typographical Error? Are you serious?

Phoenix - Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard and State Representative Kyrsten Sinema continue to make a mockery of Arizona's laws according to Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen. Reacting to a news conference in which the Chairman announced that the AZGOP was requesting Attorney General Goddard to investigate possible "resign-to-run" violations, the Attorney General and Kyrsten Sinema persisted with their dismissive attitude towards Arizona's "resign to run" law by characterizing the request as a "frivolous political stunt" and "typographical error."

Chairman Pullen yesterday requested Attorney General Goddard to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate his announcement of his intention to run for Governor of Arizona at a monthly meeting of the Grand Democrats in May and Kyrsten Sinema's public declaration in December of 2008 on her Facebook account.

Pullen: President Obama Offends with Series of Apologies

Phoenix, AZ - President Barack Obama's apology tour throughout Europe is as offensive as it is repugnant according to Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen.

As the President's first official trip overseas continues, many are disappointed with the Commander-in-Chief's propitiatory tone in Europe, which has been characterized as apologetic, decidedly anti-American and ignores America's historical supportive role in European affairs.

While our contribution levels are ahead of where they were two years ago, Michelle will only enhance and streamline our effort.”

Pullen: America's Loss is Arizona's Gain

Phoenix – Randy Pullen, chairman of the Arizona Republican Party today expressed deep concern about former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano's continued struggle with her new job, Secretary of Homeland Security.

Responding to a series of well-publicized gaffes, Chairman Pullen said that he was extremely glad that she was no longer guiding Arizona into fiscal oblivion, and continued to reflect upon how she served as Governor, let alone our country's Homeland Security Czar.

Pullen to Arizona State Bar: Stop Playing Games

Phoenix, AZ - Citing the need for fair and impartial jurists, the chairman of the Arizona Republican Party today called upon the State Bar of Arizona to stop playing games with Arizona's judicial selection system and submit a slate of nominees for the Commission on Appellate Court Appointments that actually have a chance of being confirmed by the state Senate. Constitutionally, the Governor is mandated to select one nominee from the list provided by the State Bar and forward the selection to the Senate for consideration. But the State Bar only forwarded one name to Governor Brewer for consideration, forcing the submission of an unacceptable nominee who stands little if any chance of being confirmed.

Pullen: Sen. Specter Saw the Writing on the Wall

Phoenix, AZ -- In an ironic twist, the Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party today lauded Senator Arlen Specter's pronouncement that he will defect from the Republican Party to run as a Democrat in next year's mid-term elections. According to published reports, Senator Arlen Specter has issued a statement outlining his plans to run as a Democrat in the 2010 elections.

"While I am disappointed that we have temporarily lost a Republican member of the Senate, the truth is Senator Specter saw the writing on wall," said Chairman Pullen. "His support of President Obama's economic plans for the redistribution of wealth and saddling our children and grandchildren with trillions of dollars of debt placed him at odds with his own party. Many recent polls have indicated that Senator Specter's votes for the $787 billion stimulus, the Wall Street and automotive bailouts and support of card-check legislation have severely damaged his credibility among Republicans."

Pullen: Giffords Out of Step with Obama Administration

Phoenix, AZ - Citing a disconnect between Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and President Obama's stated immigration enforcement guidelines, the Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party today called on Representative Giffords to rescind her sponsorship of a bill which would scrap the successful E-Verify system and place nearly all immigration enforcement systems in the hands of the federal government.

Late last week, President Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano released their new guidelines for immigration agents which include fines and criminal charges against those employers who knowingly break the law and hire undocumented workers. This announcement by the Obama Administration appears to be contradictory to Representative Gabrielle Giffords sponsorship of a bill which would simply eliminate an additional tool that Arizona law enforcement uses to discourage the l hiring of illegal immigrants.
