Arizona Republican Party/CNN Presidential Primary Debate offers something for everyone

The stage is set for the ”Showdown in the Desert”

(PHOENIX, AZ) - The Arizona Republican Party is announcing several activities that will surround the upcoming Republican Presidential Primary Debate scheduled for Wednesday, February 22 sponsored by the Arizona Republican Party and CNN at the Mesa Arts Center located at One East Main Street in Mesa, Arizona (www.mesaartscenter.com).

Attendance at the actual live debate is limited and by invitation only from the Arizona Republican Party, but that does not mean that the public will not have the chance to participate in debate-related activities said Arizona GOP Chairman Tom Morrissey.

“There are several events and activities surrounding the debate, so that everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy the debate experience,” Morrissey said.

Debate on Main - Mesa's Premier Viewing Party 

Live music, food vendors and an unmatched debate viewing experience on a 14 x 20 foot screen February 22, 2012 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. Downtown Mesa - Main Street between Center and Sirrine. Debate on screen from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Presented by the City of Mesa, Downtown Mesa Association and KFYI www.mesaaz.gov/todo/debate/aspx.

Taste of Arizona Event and Marketplace

Sponsored by the Arizona Republican Party and the Arizona Restaurant Association this event will occur on Wednesday, February 22 from 3-9 p.m. at the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum at the Mesa Arts Center. The marketplace event will be an outdoor event featuring vendors and local candidates. Concurrently, the Taste of Arizona event will include a meet and greet with local elected officials, simulcast of the debate, straw poll and restaurant sampling by valley restaurants including: Tanzy, San Tan Brewing Company, Outback Steakhouse, Tonto Bar & Grill, Landmark Restaurant and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. Admission to the marketplace is free and admission to the Taste of Arizona Event is $39 per person with tickets available in advance or at the door on the day of the event. Seating is limited. VIP Viewing and Post Debate Reception

This Arizona Republican Party sponsored event includes a VIP viewing party featuring a live simulcast of the debate, food and beverages, a focus group led by renowned polling expert and political analyst Frank Luntz and a post debate reception. The event is scheduled from 5:30 – 10 p.m. on February 22 in the Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse at the Mesa Arts Center. Admission is $250 per person. According to Morrissey, despite political affiliation, the presidential primary is an important part of the election process and the debates are an ideal way to evaluate the candidate’s positions on important issues that face our state and our country.
